Celebrations · The 2028 anniversary trip

Fifteen years married.
One week, flown in First.

Married in 2013? In 2028 we are taking ten couples away together for their fifteenth: Emirates First Class from Toronto, seven nights at an all-inclusive resort, and nothing to organise but the outfit for dinner. The group chooses one destination and one week from the shortlist below.

Estimates start at CA$58,900 per couple, flights and resort together.

The shortlist

Every destination here is reached on Emirates with First Class on every Emirates flight, and every resort sells a genuine all-inclusive plan, not breakfast with a wristband. Open one to see its candidate weeks, what each is like on the ground, and what it costs.

Before anything else: the Dubai connection

Every route here changes planes in Dubai. As of 30 September 2026, the Government of Canada advises Canadians to avoid non-essential travel to the United Arab Emirates because of the security situation in the region. The trip is in 2028 and nothing is booked or paid for now. We will not book the group through Dubai while that advice stands. Read the current advice on travel.gc.ca.

When to go, going by cost

We priced Emirates First from Toronto on the second Saturday of every month that can be booked today, and the resorts week by week alongside. Emirates First barely moves: it is close to a fixed fare, with a surcharge in December and in July and August. The resorts are what swing, often by a third or more between seasons. So the cheapest week is set by resort seasons, and we then weigh it against the weather.

How the group trip works

  1. Put your names down

Tell us the week you would pick and anything we should know. No money changes hands at this stage.

  2. The group chooses

Once ten couples are in, everyone gets one vote on the destination and week. The majority wins, and we confirm the resort for all ten rooms.

  3. We book the day it opens

Emirates releases seats about eleven months ahead, so the 2028 fares open during 2027. Everyone books their own place at the price on that day, and we hold the group together.

  4. Fly out together

Ten couples on the same week, First Class there and back, and seven nights with nothing to plan.

About these numbers

They are estimates, on purpose. Nobody can sell a 2028 flight yet, so every price on this page is a real price we saw on 30 September 2026 for the same week in 2027. Flights: Emirates First, round trip, per person, on Google Flights. Resorts: seven nights for two, taxes and fees included, the lowest all-inclusive rate shown in Canadian dollars on Google Hotels. The per-couple figure is two fares plus the resort, rounded to the nearest hundred.

What is not in it: resort transfers where a destination says so, gratuities, travel insurance and anything you add at the resort beyond the all-inclusive plan. 2028 prices will not be the same as 2027, so treat each figure as a guide to budget for rather than a quote.

Twenty First Class seats is the hard part. The Toronto to Dubai A380 has 14 First suites, and the Boeing 777s to Male and the Seychelles have 8. No single flight can seat all twenty in First, so the group either spreads across same-day departures, flies over two or three days, or mixes First and Business. We plan this with the airline once the group has chosen, and each destination below notes what its route allows.
